Let the Good times....

This article explains the effect on Alcohol abuse on the brain and the alcohol-induced cognitive impairment. In the article attempts to explain that alcohol has very acute advantages in that it is dispersed quickly and is soluble. They also explain how alcohol among other drug had a shorter duration time than many other drugs. Many teens and young adult do not believe that alcohol is affecting their body because they cannot see the effects the drug has on them but reality is that alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs because its affects are not seen from the outside.  Research has shown that acute doses of alcohol can significantly reduce glucose metabolism in the brain, from 10 to 30%. To put that into simpler terms, when people hear that when you drinking alcohol can make someone gain weight because of the amount of calorie intake and how slower the person metabolism is due to the alcohol intake. The study was done on both men and woman and found that this is shown more in woman then in men. The limitations in this is that the researcher never told the readers what age group the participants were. Another limitation and question you could ask is ,was the study done on teenagers who are not fully developed yet or on older adults. Another limitation is that some research was done on people who were social drinkers and some who were experienced drinkers. The data collected in very general and not very specific. The finding at the end of the research suggest that, acute exert region specific suppression or enhancement of the brain metabolic or hemodynamic activity, and by inference, neuronal activity.
